Sermon - "The Big Idea" - Luke 16:14-31

Posted by Kyle on August 15, 2011

This is the second time I have preached on this particular passage. This time, however, I included the 4 transitional verses that lead into the story of Lazarus and the rich man. These four verse dramatically color the exposition of the passage.

In Luke 16:14-31, Jesus brings to a head all of his teaching since chapter 12 of Luke with the parable of Lazarus and the rich man to explain what he really wants in a relationship with us and how the Pharisees (and, by extension, we) do not really meet that expectation.

This sermon is part of Jim Stanley's series through Luke verse-by-verse. You can hear the rest of the series on Angelo Bible Church's website.
